PowerCenter Issues

Hi,

I am trying out PowerCenter 3.0 and have setup a discovery for 1 subnet at this stage which has discovered around 50 devices including Servers, UPS', Chassis' and blades.

I am having an issue with some of the newer devices reporting power information via IPMI. The account is correct as it was discovered using the same account.

I get the following event every 10mins (this is the schedule I have set for monitoring):

Protocol Operation Failed: Unexpected protocol error(s) have occurred. Retry the operation, and contact Dell support if the problem persists.

When I look at the power utilisation graphs for the servers with this error it has no data.

The troublesome devices appear to be:

PowerEdge M915 and M710HD blades (M620 blades appear ok)
PowerEdge R810/R820 Servers (other servers - R720,R520, etc appear ok)

Has anyone experienced this before or have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

First, I apologize for the problems you are experiencing.

I would request you to create a support ticket with Dell. This will enable us to access the log file and find the exact root cause.

Regards
