Add disks to PERC/6i
Old PE2900, 2012 r2, OMSA 9.1.
This server has a raid 5 setup with 3 virtual disks. I want to add 3 drives but under Available Tasks I do not have the Reconfigure… as an option. As I understand it with multiple VDs a Reconfigure is not an option, only on a single VD setup. The only VD I am concerned with is Disk 0 as it is the OS and apps. Can I delete Disk 1 and 2 without destroying Disk 0? IE not have to reload 2012 and apps?

To start with OMSA 9.1 isn't supported on the 2900, so I would start with uninstalling 9.1 and install 7.4 found here. To answer your other questions, you can reconfigure a Virtual Disk with others present, as long as the VD's aren't configured on the same Physical Disks. As well as that you could delete the other Virtual Disks without affecting another. Now just to make sure we are on the same page, we are referring to the Virtual Disks for the raid and not partitions within the OS.

OK 7.4 installed, thanks for the link. Reconfigure... is still not available in the OMSA drop down. I have not rebooted since the uninstall or 9.x and install of 7.x. Don't know that I have to but I have patches requiring a reboot tonight anyway.
All PERC VDs are all on the same set of physical disks as a single RAID 5 set as seen in the Storage configuration in OMSA and PERC BIOS. I am referring to VDs (VD0=OS & apps, VD1=empty, VD2=Hyper-V VHDs) in the PERC not logical disks in 2012 Disk Manager where they show as 3 different physical drives C, D and E.
After I move the Hyper-V VHDS from VD2 can I delete VD1 and VD2 with OMSA without losing booting to VD0? Then go in add a spare and 2 more disks into the same raid 5 set then expand the drive in 2012 Disk Manager?
Does "As well as that you could delete the other Virtual Disks without affecting another" apply if all VDs are on the same set of physical disk?

I would reboot first. Yes you can delete the other 2 VD's without affect VD0, but I would still get a full backup just to be on the safe side.

Hi, I have an issue where a drive that went bad on my server its a test / production server as it connects to sync accounts from production but still need to save my virtuals machines if I can. the server is setup with two Disk Groups 0 / 1 all the data that I need to save is on Disk Group 1 and the disk that went bad are on Disk Group 0. I wanted to ask if I can safely delete disk group 0 and not affect Disk Group 1? if so I will try this today.
I am not looking to resize disk group 1 or alter it in any particular way, I added the drives to replace the bad ones on Disk Group 0 and configured the foreign config but I cannot boot normally still
Help is a appreciated.
