Dell PowerEdge T550 nvme disks

Hello everyone,

I have a PowerEdge T550 server and need to connect nvme disks to it. Are there any original adapters I can use to do this?

If you are planning to have NVMe U.2 drives then it is only supported on one of the PowerEdge T550 configuration. You can refer below link with details

https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/poweredge-t550/t550_ts_ism/drives?guid=guid-074c3b9e-afba-4379-af3f-35fad4e5e03a&lang=en-us

For this you need to have that specific configuration and it need to be cabled as one of the diagram shown in Figure 19 to 21 of below link

https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/poweredge-t550/t550_ism/cable-routing?guid=guid-72b055aa-bb18-420d-bb5a-cf502b30ce01&lang=en-us

Another option is to have HHHL card on PCIe slot. You can refer below link for slot supported.

https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/poweredge-t550/t550_ism/expansion-card-installation-guidelines?guid=guid-33086d66-789a-4140-b0c0-bf790c27c437&lang=en-us

Below are some of the HHHL cards are supported in PowerEdge T550

335Y0 - KIT,CRD,NVME,6.4,HHHL,PM1735

3GFMW - KIT,CRD,NVME,1.6,HHHL,PM1735

Hi @DELL-Joey C

I looked at YD2C2 and the information I got was from Dell R750. Do you have the correct information for the 8x2.5' NVME backplane for the Dell T550?

Hi @JustMe - MCV,

From the DPN# search view in our database, T550 is listed too. I do understand google only return search for R750. I probably would suggest being on the safe side, do contact the sales representatives to confirm it can be used in your server's configurations.
