Dell PowerEdge r410 HDD Not Found

I have a Dell PowerEdge r410 with cabled drives not a backplane. The SATA Connectors on the MB are connected to a P349G Cable. When booting up the server It says that there is no SATA device found on port A (Tested on ports A-E). There is a 1TB Seagate Barracude ES.2 ST31000640SS in the server. I've tried changing the SATA Controller settings to AHCI, RAID, ATA but noting works.

Hi,

So you have any other drives to test with? May I know your server use what RAID model? S100? S300? Also, is the drive a Dell certified drive?

The raid controller is the s100 and I did test with a normal SATA drive I had sitting around and it worked (I did not know I could use a normal SATA drive before I made this post). Both drives are not a Dell Certified drive.

Hi,

S100 is not compatible with SAS drives, Page: 29

That could be the reason that it's not appearing on the server.
