Dell Poweredge R320 add SATA hdd Dell W8FW5 Seagate Enterprise Capacity ST2000NM0018
Please i have Poweredge R320 server with controller 405-12068 : PERC H310 Integrated RAID Controller and have RAID 1 (mirroring) with two SAS hdd 278.88GB. I want to add sata hdd ( Dell W8FW5 Seagate Enterprise Capacity ST2000NM0018) to be data disk to arhive files. Is it possible to do that but not to reconfigure RAID settings. Thank you so much.

That is correct, but you would only see the space created in Disk Mgmt, it will appear as Unallocated Space.

Stysty,
Just to confirm your request, you are wanting to add a single drive, but not as part of the existing Virtual Disk, is that correct?
If so then it is indeed possible to do, as the H310 supports passthrough. You would just need to configure the drive as a single drive raid 0.
If you're wanting to add the drive to the existing Virtual Disk, you would need to do by selecting Reconfigure.

Thank you so much for quick response and solution. I don't have much experience with disk configuration. I'm a little scared for disc data on RAID 1 .
I do this:
And now I need to click Continue and i will see hdd in Windows 2012 disk management. Am i right?
