Dell R620 and PERC H710P - backplane cable?

Read through this thread:

http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/servers/f/906/p/19471857/20339141.aspx

We ordered PERC H710P mini customer kit (342-3536 - PCVT5) and 2x 800GB Solid State Drive SATA Value MLC 3Gbps 2.5in (342-5821) for our R620 (which only had the S110 embedded controller previously). Can anyone help me identify the part number for the cable needed? Been searching around to no avail.

Hello

Since you originally had the S110 and it only supports the 4 HDD backplane configuration I am going to assume that is the backplane you have. If that is the case then the part number for the cable you need is:

WVF6J

That is the backplane cable for a mini PERC to 4 HDD backplane SAS A connection. It works with all PERC mini daughter cards in the R620; which are the H310 and H710(p).

The normal sales agents typically don't have access to sell these parts. In general they can only sell new components that are designated by a 7 digit part number in this format 111-1111. Our spare parts department is who you need to contact to purchase 5 digit replacement parts.

800 357-3355 is the listed phone number for them. Be sure to reference the contact page in the future as the number may change. It will not be updated in this post, but it will be updated on the contact page.

Thanks

Would TK2VY be compatible? It has the dual connectors to the backplane vs the single that WVF6J has. But yes you are correct about the backplane we have.

Yes, aside from the extra cable it is functionally the same as the other one. You can use either of those cables.

Thanks
