Dell poweredge r430 ssd sata connection
Hey,
I'm trying to connect my 4 sata ssd's without the raid controller (perc h330). I disabled it in the bios (I don't want to use it) and configured the embedded sata to ata mode. However when I try to install windows server 2012 r2 it doesn't recognizes my disk..
Am i doing something wrong?

Hello
If you are switching between hardware RAID and the integrated RAID or SATA controller then you will need to change the cabling. I'm not sure if you can use the existing SAS cable or if you will need to change the cable. There should be a system board diagram on the case or in the manual that will list where the integrated controller connector is at on the system board.
