Does Perc H200 and H700 support SATA 6 Gbps?
Hi,
I have get a dozen new R610 some with Perc H200 other with Perc H700 inside and I would like to know it one or both of the support SATA 6 Gbps? Will they downgrade the drive to a SATA 3 Gbps or provide full bandwith of 6 Gbps to SATA too?
I plan to use the new Intel SSD 510 in some of our Dell servers.
In the technical specification it's written SAS 3 Gbps, SAS 6 Gbps and SATA 3 Gbps is supported.
Thanks.

Yes, both the H200 and H700 support 6Gbps - SAS or SATA:
3Gbps drives will also work just fine on them, but, of course, with a maximum throughput of 3Gbps.

Please take a look inside:
http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/pvaul/en/perc-technical-guidebook.pdf
3.4 Drive support (page 12)
Why there is 6 Gb/s SATA not listed?
Has anyone tested with one of the new Sata 6.0 Gb/s SSD (Vertex 3, Intel SSD 510 ...) ?

I can see the H200 and H700 support 6Gbps only on SAS, not sata.
I wish to run Intel SSD 510 on Dell server, but it seems dell does have any server support SATA3 6Gbs at moment.
we using R710 server with PERC 6/i controller at moment.
