Fusion-io for Poweredge m620 available?

The only blade I see supporting the IoDrive2 is the M610. There doesn't appear to be any 12th generation blades that support it. If you follow this link it will show a compatibility matrix of supported systems for the FusionIO drives - http://dell.fusionio.com/images/documents/support-matrix.pdf

Can you suggest an alternative to Fusion-io that is available for the m620? Or are all options just regular SSD drives?

The M620 has an option to support Express Flash. Express Flash drives use PCIe and SSD technologies to provide performance, scalability, and optimal serviceability.  Accelerated performance with high IOPs is made possible without requiring processor resources or capturing DRAM.

Also, Express Flash drives use a standardized, 2.5-inch hot-plug form factor, which allows a common management process for all drives.

The PowerEdge M620 has an option to support up to two Express Flash PCIe SSD drives with the PCIe SSD backplane configuration. This backplane is not an upgradable option and must be selected when placing the order.  To support PCIe SSD, customer must select the PCIe SSD backplane (Expander card).  PCIe SSD drives can be configured to RAID 0 or RAID1 via the OS RAID option.

Which is the alternative to FusionIO, but if the backplane wasn't order originally then it isn't an upgradable part.

What is the part number on your systems backplane and I can verify for you?

I am putting together a configuration for a small VMware Horizon View environment. The blades are not purchased yet so your information is very usefull.

What I would like to have is 3 m620's with:

• one local at least 600GB VMware datastore (Fusion-io like performance) to be used for VMs
• redundant 2 GB sd card on which ESXi will be installed
• 2x 8-core cpu
• 128 GB memory
• at least 4 physical nics (I think the "Broadcom 57810S-k 10Gb Dual port Network Daughter Card" can provide me this)

All components must be supported by/certified for use with VMware ESXi 5.5.
