H330 PERC Discs unsupported
Hi all,
I have a new T330 which I purchased off a reseller with only one disk in it. I wanted to remove this disk and replace it with four Seagate discs I have in stock. Unfortunately these disks are coming up in OpenManage as Unsupported. In the BIOS Raid utility they show as BLOCKED.
Having read some other posts on here about similar instances it appears to be the firmware on the controller that causes it. So far I have tried three variants of firmware, no joy.
So, can I check if I will ever get these disks to work on this controller or am I best just giving up and looking for other discs (which obviously I don't want to do).
Never had this issue before with Dell PERC controllers, and I go back a bit!
Failing Disk Details:
SEAGATE ST3300657SS, 300GB, SAS, 6Gbps, 512B sectors
Controller Details:
PERC H330, Driver: 6.604.06.00
Firmware versions tried:
25.3.0.0016
25.5.2.0001
25.5.0.0019
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

I have seen almost identical replies on other posts.
This must be based on newer controllers only as I have used many other 'foreign' discs in the past.
Just as a comparison I am going to install a H310 controller to see if the drives still report as unsupported.
I suspect they will be fine on that older controller.
It could be that the H330 only allows 12gbps speeds on SAS.

This is all bs, this is so you can sell a $100 hard drive for $700.
I am getting more and more fed up will Dell.
