JBOD with PERC
I just got a great deal on a Poweredge 2950 rack, and it came with a PERC, but i'm not sure which one at the moment, but i believe it's a 6i. Now i currently have a 300GB SAS i'll be using for the OS and a 2TB SATA which is filled with data. Both will be plugged into the unit once i get drive bays for it. Will the rack be able to utilize the 2TB without formatting it?

The PERC's do NOT support non-RAID/JBOD, so any drive would need to be set up in a RAID configuration on the controller before it would be accessible by the OS. If you happen to have a SAS 6/iR controller, it DOES support non-RAID.
