Looking for 3rd party software for partitioning hard drives thats compatible with NT Server 4.0
Hi
Here is the dilemma. I purchased a 18g hard drive for a PowerEdge Server 2300 that had the (9g) hard drive fail the other day. I had to partition the hard drive so that the operating system would recognize and I recently went to purchase Partition Magic... the software that I had used in the past for partitioning hard drives and I found that it is not compatible with Windows NT Server 4.0.
Does anyone know of any 3rd party software that partitions drives that is compatible with Windows NT Server 4.0 SP6.

I've used Volume Manager 2.0 from Symantec (used to be PowerQuest) to partition my systems and it worked just fine, I have W2K, but the vendor claims it works with both NT & W2K. By the way, think of Volume Manager as the "server" version of Partition Magic, which is used for desktops.

Symantec and Binary Research GHOST has a program called GDISK similar to FDISK.

GDisk32
Norton Ghost 2002, 2003, and Symantec Ghost 7.5 include two versions of GDisk: GDisk.exe and GDisk32.exe. The newest version of GDisk, GDisk32.exe, is a 32 bit program that can be run from within a DOS virtual machine. Use this version when you want to run GDisk from within Windows. This version uses the same command-line switches as GDisk.exe.
