Lost Raid Configuration - PowerEdge R730

dell.PNG

I inadvertently removed the raid one configuration from a pair of disks.

They are now being displayed as unconfigured physical disks (1.454 tb).

Is there anyway of getting the raid configuration back onto these disks without destroying the underlying data?

The only way to potentially achieve this is through a retag operation. This is a risky option, though. If the data is critical, I'd recommend using a service like Drive Savers or Ace Data Recovery.

A retag is a lot like creating a new array, because is essentially is. The critical difference is to be sure to NOT allow the initialization of the array to run. The initialization is what would destroy the data. If you recreate the virtual disk with the same exact parameters and do not initialize, the metadata would be rewritten and the disk should present itself to the OS.
