Maximum drive and RAID size on R410/h700
Hi all,
I've seen a few posts in the past (few years ago) about maximum drive sizes and RAID sizes and I was wondering what the max I could get out of an R410 / H700 server with 4xLFF
I need a large storage server and have been using Seagate Exos in a number of similar projects with good reliability.
You can now get a 16TB Seagate Exos and was wondering if I could put in 4x16TB in RAID5 and get 48TB and whether or not the R410/H700 would support this size?
Anyone got any experience of using the larger drives now available?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
So far, I have only seen 4TB size hard drive from Dell.
Although there is no size limit on the H700, but RAID5 48TB would take least a week to rebuild if a failure of 1 drive occurred, and likeliness to encounter raid puncture is high.
You may also encounter errors if you're not using Dell certified hard drive with firmware proprietary.
