New Hard Drive upgrade not being recognized.
Hello, I have added a new 8TB Hard Drive to Dell PowerEdge T440 rack, after power on the the Hard Disk is nor being recognized, (SAS ISE 12Gbps 3.5 inch Hot-Plug), tried restart, re-plugin and even changing the slot, nothing seems to work, please advice a resolution to get it recognized.

Hello,
which RAID controller is installed? And the hard drives is bought with Dell? Do you have the part number? I can check if it is supported for the PERC.

@BasilJasheem it seems to be an unsupported drive, have you verified the compatibility before the installation and specific error on POST screen?

Does the lights go on when insert the tray into the Server? Does the PERC Hxxx shows the new drive under physical drives? Is the disk marked as RAID or NonRaid Mode?
Keep in mind that you need to create a VD within the PERC Hxxx first otherwise the OS cant see anything. Only when having a passthrough HBA the OS will see the immediately.
