PE2600 embedded RAID controller, unable to enable in BIOS

I have a PE2600 for which i have installed the RAID Key, 128mb RAID Memory and the RAID battery, yet in the bios i can't select RAID under the integrated devices.

Is there anyway to determine why this is?

Cheers Paul.

I think this is a good opportunity to contact Dell Poweredge support as those 3 things should be all that's needed.

I do of course assume you've updated everything on the server; bios, ESM, controller firmwares, etc.

In the US Dell support doesn't end when the warranty expires (on their enterprise equipment) as far as I know.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunatley the DELL warranty expired in May so i can't call support.

One thing on the memory, i've used a 128mb PC memory 133mhz module, should that be ok.

Dev Mgr is correct you have phone based support on Enterprise systems as long as you have the system.  May I ask where you purchased the RAID components?

Thanks for the replies. I shall give them a call.

The components, as far as i can tell, where taken from an old server that was decommissioned. I found then and decied to try and use them in another server, to give us the RAID capability, the only thing we didn't have was the memory module, but i found some documentation that said you just needed to use PC100 or better non ECC memory.

Cheers Paul.
