PERC 6i to H700
I have a PE T410 with a PERC 6i PCI card, and I'm using 2TB SAS drives. I'd like to replace the drives with 4TB SAS, and it looks like I need the H700 to do this. Aside from the H700 and new cables, is there anything else I need to do this conversion? Battery still the same? Thanks.

I "believe" the battery is the same (connector, voltage, etc.), but you likely will have a battery included when you purchase the H700 kit. Shouldn't be much else you need to do.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to purchase a used H700 pulled from another T410. In the process I learned that Dell use very slightly different cables for this card, depending on the server model. I reused my existing battery.
The other thing I discovered is the PERC 6i has a 4 pins on top center, to which a small connector attaches, that has a red & black wire. There's nowhere to attach this connector to the H700. I haven't been able to find out what this is for.

The Battery is the same. The cables are different , as the PERC 6 on the T410 has a normal SAS connectors while the H700 has mini SAS connectors. The H700 will support drives greater than 2 TB while the Perc 6 does not.
