Perc 5/E not showing in Bios
Hello,
I just bought new PCIe risers and Perc 5/E to attach MD1000 to my PE1950 III, but Perc is not visible in bios. The green led is flashing on, but it can not detect the raid controller.
Please suggest me how to fix this problem,

You may want to try moving it to another slot and see if it shows up or if you have another card to test with. Or if you have another system that we can test this card in that will help us determine if we have a bad card or if we might have an issue with a slot in the riser.

The SAS 6/iR's prompt is CTRL-C. CTRL-R is for a PERC 5/6/7/8.

When you power the server on do you get a Ctrl-R option to get into the RAID Card bios? Depending what controller you have in the server for your internal drives you may need to wait until you get a second Ctrl R option and that will take you into the Controller for the external array. Server is in datacenter, but i remember, that Ctrl-R appears only for my SAS 6/iR Integrated controller, there does not appear a text about Perc 5/E while boot.

I will try it in 2 days when i get to datacenter, but shouldnt it write during boot some text like: Hit CTRL-R to enter perc 5 setup ... ? In Dell OMSA 7.1 i see PCI1 and PCI2 not occupied.

The actual text may vary based on firmware level, but it will probably say something like:
PowerEdge Expandable RAID Controller BIOS
LSI Corporation/Logic
Press CTRL-R to Run Configuration Utility
You may not actually see the name PERC 5/E, although PERC stands for Poweredge Expandable RAID Controller.

Solved the problem!
After moving it to another PCIe slot, which is up the drac5 card (2nd slot from the power supply) it showed in the bios (CTRL-R possibility) and in Dell OMSA it shows as PCI1, so maybe thats the problem why it did not work, because it was in PCI2.... anyway now I am happy and can put it back to the datacenter!
