PowerEdge 1950 G1 with WD2003FYYS

I recently buy and added a group of Western Digital WD2003FYYS RE4 to DELL Powervault MD3000 server (present list compatibility) to install OS

Windows Server 2008 R2.

But OS can't find any hard drives.

I'm wondering if Firmware Dell to this model - WD2003FYYS needs to  be updated on both of these (HDD and OS) or OS only..

Has anyone seen this and/or have a solution?

I would really appreciate your help,

Thanks in advance!

Hello Alones,

In regards to the MD3000 when replacing any hard drives you need to make sure of 2 main things, 1) that the drive is listed on the support matrix by model#, & 2) that the drive has a dell part# on it. If the drive doesn’t have either then it will not spin up and be seen by the MD3000. Here is a link to the support matrix for the MD3000. The list of hard drives is on page 8-11. ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_powervault/powervault-md3000_Reference%20Guide_en-us.pdf
