PowerEdge 2850 - SCSI Hard Drive Upgrade

What is the proper procedure for upgrading Raid 1 Hard Drives to larger

Hard Drives. The Server is a Dell PowerEdge 2850 with integrated PERC 4e/Di Raid

controller. The current drives are Seagate ST373207LC 68GB SCSI drives. The new drives are

Seagate ST3300007LC 3009GB SCSI drives. The OS is Server 2003 Standard SP2.

Backup, replace disks with larger ones, configure RAID, restore.

There is no way to replace them with larger ones and expand the array to fit the disks. IF you replace the disks one at a time, the only thing you can do is create a second array across the disks with the newly available space. This will be presented to the OS as a separate ~227GB "disk", so it will be a separate volume and will have a separate drive letter.
