This model has three different chassis versions:

4 x 3.5 inch Hard-Drive System

3.5v1_001.png

4 x 3.5 inch Cabled Hard-Drive System

3.5v2_001.png

8 x 2.5 inch Hard-Drive System

2.5_001.png

- SSD disks are 2.5"

- 3.5" chassis is not upgradeable to 2.5"

The best you can try is purchasing some 2.5" to 3.5" enclosure like this https://www.startech.com/en-us/hdd/25sat35hdd and see if it works. I can't guarantee it will work because I have never tried, but theoretically it should.

If your backplane is 8 x 2.5" you can use any latest generation SSD from the manufacturers such as WD, Crucial, Samsung, Sandisk or Micron, they will be recognized by this server and are mountable in the standard SAS/SATA caddies.

Some SSD had issues with this server in the past due to old firmware (namely Kingston and some Samsung), so make sure your SSDs are running the latest firmware, as well as the server's BIOS.
