PowerEdge T110 ii Raid 0 - No drives found during OS Install
Hello, I am upgrading an old server (PowerEdge T110 ii) to use Windows Server 2016. I added 2 120GB SSD drives. I would like to set them up to use RAID 0. I had no issues finding the drives and setting up RAID 0. Unfortunately, when I try to install the OS, I am getting an error that no drives are found. I assume it is a driver issue, but I am having trouble finding how to install the PERC S100 driver before the OS is installed. Any help would be appreciated. The drives do not appear to be the issue, without RAID, I can install the OS on the drives and they are found during the OS installation. BIOS is upgraded to 2.10

4. In the LifeCycle Controller window, click the appropriate option if you want to configure hardware, diagnostics, or set changes.
If no changes are required, select OS Deployment.
5. In the Operating System Deployment window, click Deploy OS.
The Configure or Skip RAID window is displayed. If Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) is configured, the window displays
the existing RAID configuration details.
6. Select Go Directly to OS Deployment.
If RAID is not yet configured, configure from this screen before proceeding with the installation.
7. Click Next.
The Select Operating System window is displayed with a list of compatible operating systems.
8. Select Microsoft Windows Server 2016, and then click Next.
NOTE: If Microsoft Windows Server 2016 is not listed, you need to update the LifeCycle Controller's Drivers for OS
Deployment package and then restart the Installation again from Lifecycle controller.
NOTE: Installation of Microsoft Windows Server 2016 by using Lifecycle Controller is only supported on 13th
generation of the PowerEdge servers

After you install windows make sure you get the 17gb iso with all the drivers for your DELL model, attach it as a media, run it, careful as its a bit buggy, but let it run, reboot, and you are done.
A workaround without doing all this, is from LifeCycle, step 7, select windows server 2019 let it do its thing, when you boot now for OS install it will pick up u'r drives.
NOTE: It may cause driver issues in the long term, so follow the steps mentioned in the link.

Thank you for the quick response. However, I believe the PowerEdge T110 ii is Generation 11 and is not supported with this method. I can launch "OS Deploy", but do not have an option for RAID and it asks me to select a device driver, which it cannot find on my USB.

Thanks for the response, I decided to skip using RAID on the PERC S100 at this time.

Hi, are your SSDs SaS or Sata? If they are Sata, I would just attach them to the motherboard. If they are SaS then you will need a controller.
