Poweredge PE R720 RAID 5 adding disk will it rebuild automatically?

I have a PE R720 with a PERC H710 mini card.  2 146GB drives in a raid 1.  5 300GB drives in a raid 5.  1 standby hot swap dedicated 300GB drive.  Can I just put another drive in and the array will rebuild automatically?  There are 2 racks in the front of the server and each one holds 8 drives.  So I would have to put one in the second rack.  Is that ok?  Do I need another card?  Can I do all of this with OMSA?  Looking for options.  What about this?

Will this work?

Hello

I think you are asking about adding another disk to a RAID 5 virtual disk. If I am correct then yes, the H710 supports online capacity expansion of RAID 5. Reconfigure and OCE tasks require OpenManage Server Administrator, they cannot be performed directly through the controller BIOS on the H710.

You can find more information about Reconfigure and Online Capacity Expansion in the OMSA Storage Manual.
