R440 - upgrade from non-RAID to RAID with H330
Hi. I have an R440 that was purchased with no RAID controller. It has the 4 x 3.5 HDD backplane (SATA SSD). I would like to add a hardware RAID controller. Budget is more important than performance so I am looking at the H330.
My questions are:
1. Does the full-height PCIe riser that comes with the R440 support the H330?
2. What new cable(s) will I need? The SATA cable from the backplane currently connects directly to the MB. Will this cable be removed and the backplane will connect directly to the H330? I ask this as I saw a youtube H330 installation video that appears to have SATA cables running between the H330 and the MB SATA ports. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65ZfAs20FiM)
If it helps, here are a few pictures of the R440 I currently have and how it's cabled.
Thanks so much in advance for any guidance you can give me.

Additional information: I need storage redundancy. I'm ok with software RAID with the exception of the boot drives - it's gotten significantly more complicated since I last did it in NT 3.51 where all I needed was a boot disk on hand in the event of a failure.
You read the above post - maybe a simpler solution is for me to add the entry-level BOSS card and two 128Gb m.2 drives.
What do you think?

Hello make sure you back up the data first. You will need to re install the OS as well.

Hi, I've checked the part numbers and the below part number seems compatible with R440 but 6H1G0 seems not compatible. So I can't guarantee it works without a problem.

Hello Rahim777, please consult your dealer before purchasing. As a technical team member, it seems to be compatible with the POWEREDGE R440 in the spare parts system.

so, i can use any of these mentioned perc on my r440 BPx8
right?
and i have a confusion regarding the cabling part.
as far as i know sas cable will connect perc to BP of hard drive
but in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65ZfAs20FiM&ab_channel=DellQuickResourceLocator) i noticed,
perc connector cable is directly connected with the MB sata ports and one MB sata port is connected with the BPx4
