R710 / H700 Issues.
I'm having issues getting any OS onto two of these boxes. Each time it can see the local volume, but won't write (ESXi states permission denied, similar no write access from other OS installers). I've ran diagnostics, and it can't write to any Disk Media.... specifically, I got this error;
Error Code 0f00:133c
Msg: DISK - No Suitable disk media is present
Now - there is. 2x 136GB disks configured as RAID1, and the other 4 configured for RAID5 (yep, i've tried both volumes) I've tried flattening the raid controller and starting again.... I've tried updating the firmwares, and I've confirmed they are at the most up to date according to the Dell Website.
Any pointers on the error? Might give me some divine inspiration!

Sorry to hear about the issue with loading the OS.
Couple of questions.
Which version of ESXi are you trying to install?
During the install are there any external USB/SCSI/SAS devices attached to the server?
Are you using virtual media to perform the OS install?
Thanks.

One other question; what is the size of your raid 5? If it's over 2TB, vSphere4 won't support this and it might be the reason for the error.

Have you tried remounting the virtual media?
Have you tried using physical media instead of virtual?

I know you mentioned that the firmware is all up to date.
Can you please list what revisions the server firmware is at?
Thanks.

LUN Size. I've tried a volume of RAID1, 136GB. I've tried splitting that into different sizes, to see if it makes a difference.
Physical Media - no. I've never had issues with the virtual media before. I've tried pushing same ISO to a VM locally - no problems.
Errors in 'messages' in ESXi installation;
SCSIDeviceIO: 4494: Could not detect setting of QErr of device. {Blah}. Error Failure.
WARNING: Partition: 593: Bad label 0x0
FSS: 3924: No FS Driver claimed device '{blah}' : Not supported
It all points to something wonky with the local volume - but I can't see any obvious options in the H700 to configure.
I have a look in vmfs/volumes - nothing there.... (except the CDROM)
