R710 - replace Perc 6i with H330

I have an existing R710 with embedded Perc 6i that I would like to replace with a H330 controller in order to be able to run ESXi 7.0. Does anyone know if this is possible and what type of cabling would be needed? ThR710 Perc 6i H330ank you in advance for your help.

Hi,

In papers, H710 would not work in R710. Though, H700 would work in R710 and ESXi 6.0.

Thanks Joey, I know it is not listed on the official compatibility lists. The question was more about whether it is possible to get it work in a R710, just like some people have been able to get H730P to work in R710s etc.

I can't authoritatively say it will or won't work, but I can say that I haven't seen this config work. That being said, I only spoke to a small number of people, so my sample size is going to be *REALLY* low. I don't expect it to work, but if someone in the community as gone in depth with it, I'd be interested to hear about it.

Thanks Dell-DylanJ. I just found out that ESXi 7.0 will work with the H710 mini controller. Is it possible to get this to work in place of the embedded Perc 6i in the R710?

Thanks Dell-Joey, looks like I will have to throw out my R710s and maybe get R720s since I need to run ESXi 7.0
