R730 failed local drive
Hi, I have a failed 500GB HDD in my Dell R730's local storage that forms part of a RAID 6 virtual disk (6 HDDs in total). The server has a PERC H730P Mini RAID controller. What are my options for replacing the failed drive? I am having issues sourcing the same drive so my question is - can I use a larger HDD drive to replace it with? Is it possible to replace it with a SSD drive? Thank you

It doesn't have to be the exact same make/model. As long as it's certified, the firmware will be compatible. Larger is fine, but you cannot mix SAS/SATA or HDD/SSD in the same array, so assuming your 500GB disks are SATA, you can't replace the failed one with a more robust SAS drive, and you can't replace it with an SSD.
