Raid shouldn't make a difference usually, but some imaging software loads specific drivers causing it to act slightly different than a full OS would.
Ghost 8 is somewhat dated (I think the latest version is 11), so an updated version may be a better choice, or indeed something like Acronis True Image (server edition).
Have you actually tried with Norton Ghost yet? It may not be supported, but as long as Ghost see's the array as a single drive, as apposed to seperate drives, there shouldn't be a problem.
I only mention Ghost 8 because I understand that it was the last bootable version of Ghost (was last packaged with Ghost 2003, if I recall correctly); I just want to perform a straight clone of a partition to an empty RAID 1 array, and I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible (i.e. refrain from installing any new software).
The copy of Acronis True Image that I have is Home 11, and it includes a bootable cloning suite. Are there any important differences to be aware of between the Home and Server editions of the software if all I'm doing is cloning a drive?
Unfortunately, I have not been able to test either Ghost 8 or True Image on the server itself as any downtime isn't an option just yet.
Thanks for all the advice so far! I'll be back with results.
Ended up trying Seagate DiskWizard (re-branded Acronis True Iamge 10), but it didn't seem to support cloning a partition to a disk... So I went with Ghost 11 (didn't realize that Symantec was still updating the bootable version), and all went well! Thanks for the input, everyone.

Twicesliced...
Have not used Ghost on a raid in a while, been using Acronis, works great, except with Dynamic disks (True Image v 9.1).
Always run chkdsk and a surface scan on the source before cloning or imaging with any imaging software.
