Recover Degraded Raid 5 Array on PE310 with S300 controller
I have a PowerEdge T310 with a S300 embedded controller and a RAID 5 Array. The array has 3 Dell 300 GB SAS drives. The system is bootable, working and I can access the desktop. The system is running Windows Server 2008 Sp2 X86. I have the system patched to current levels.
Open Manage is showing me that the array is DEGRADED. It is also showing as degraded during boot. All 3 drives are online and working according to OMSA. There is no consistency check for this controller array ans an option in OMSA.
How do I restore the array to consistency and get rid of the degraded state?
Thanks,
Rick Vabulas

Dell - Chris H,
I have upgraded the OMSA version to version 7.3, It was Version 6.5.
Firmware Version 5.2.2-0072
Driver Version 2.24.00.32
Storport Driver Version 5.2.3790.4173
After a day and several reboots the degradation resolved itself.
Thanks.
Is there a manual consistency scan for the S300 or S100 that can be used for testing?

Rvabulas,
The array being shown as degraded, with all members being online, is generally due to one or more of the following being out of date.
Controller Driver
Controller Firmware
OMSA version too old
Storport Driver is out of date. (My bet)
.
Verify that these are up to date.
If Storport is below 6.0.6002.22327 then use this link to update from the hotfix.. support.microsoft.com/.../979764
Let me know what you find.
