Reemplacing disk in a SAS 5ir Controller with a different size/model hard disk
Hello I have a Power Edge sc1430 with a SAS 5 Ir Raid Controller, with 2 WD HD's (WD2500YS 250GB)
One of them is damaged, don't work any more, the server is still running but I haven´t rebooted after the detection of the problem.
Since there is no possibility of buying the same disk, is it possible to reemplace the broken disk with a totaly diferent disk, for example a Toshiba HD with 500 GB of capacity?

Hello
Yes, it needs to be the same type(SAS, SATA, SSD) and the same size or larger( => ) than the smallest drive in the array.
