Replacing drive with PERC H310 Mini
We have a R520 with a PERC H310 Mini and 2 drives in a RAID 1. One of the drives failed and was removed and replaced with another drive with identical Product ID (ST3600057SS). The new drive shows as "Ready" but is not automatically joined in the RAID. There is also no option to add it. If I go to the Virtual Disk and select Replace Member Disk I get the message "There are currently no disks that are available, large enough, or of the correct type to be used as a replace member for this virtual disk".
Not really sure where to go from here. Normally it would just see the new disk, you add it to the Virtual Disk and you are off and running. Not this time. Any advice?

Hi,
You mentioned that you went to the Virtual Disk and select replace member disk, where did you see this option, in the controller BIOS or in OMSA?
Are you able to set the disk as dedicated hotspare or global hotspare?
The drive that you're using, is it a Dell drive, does contains a DPN#? There are times where if the drives are non dell drives, it may occur errors and issues.
Does a reboot help the the drive rebuild the array?

Hi Joey,
I am using OMSA to try to add the drive and rebuild the array.
The new drive has been set to a Global Hot Spare and is showing as Ready and Spun Up.
The drive is actually showing as a Seagate with the same Product ID as the Dell drives (ST3600057SS).
A reboot does not help.

Hi,
Could you check if the drive is assigned as a hotspare, if it is, unassign it. Then move the drive to another slot, and check if it's detected. Access to the RAID BIOS if possible then assign the drive as dedicated hotspare. Meanwhile, I would recommend to do a full data backup.
In OMSA, could you provide a screenshot of the replacement drive properties.
