SAS 6IR card not recogonzing new drives

We have a new r410 server with the integrated SAS 6IR RAID card.  Machine shipped with a 160GB WD drive.  The raid bios only sees the factory WD drive, not my new 160gb WD drives.  I can plug the drives into the motherboard directly, bypassing the raid card and the drives show up in the system bios and report correctly in terms of size, model, etc.

Are there specific drives that will only work with the controller card?  Just the Dell purchased drives?
