SATA support - Dell PowerEdge R720 - PERC H710P Mini
hello guys. i have the server and controller as described in the subject header. will this server support sata drives? if so which specific drives? 6/gb 3.5 inch? and supported sizes as well please

Yes, it will. Physical size will depend on the chassis you have ... if you have a 2.5" chassis, you must get 2.5" drives; if you have a 3.5" chassis, then you can use 3.5" drives or 2.5" drives with an adapter/caddy.
You can use 3G, 6G, or 12G SATA, in any size as long as they are not native 4K - I believe they must be 512e. The SAS backplane/controller in will also take SATA drives.
Do NOT use consumer/laptop/desktop drives ... use enterprise-grade hard drive models, and you should be using certified drives.
