Seagate drives in R610

I have an R610 with two 146GB SAS drives. I have some Seagate Savvio10K.4 ST945040SS SAS drives lying around.

Can I use these drives in the R610 server with the Perc H700 card or do I need to use Dell certified drives?

You can, as in Dell lifted the "lock-out" of non-certified drives at customers' request, but it is not recommended.  Dell co-branded/certified drives have a special firmware loaded on them from Seagate (or other manufacturer) that tunes the drive to the performance specification of the PERC controller for improved performance and reliability.  If this is a test box, go for it.  If it will house data and/or service that are crucial to your organization, get the certified drives.  (You can buy certified/Dell co-branded drives from many third-party suppliers ... you don't have to pay the premium Dell is sometimes known for charging.)
