Switch PERC H750 to HBA mode
Hi,
I want to switch my PERC H750 from RAID mode to HBA mode, but I didn't find the option to do that !
On other versions I think it's supposed to be in : "Controller Management > Advanced Controller Management > Switch to HBA mode".
My server is a PowerEdge R740 with 2 x SSD SATA 480GB and 14 x HDD SAS 2.4GB

H750 does not have a HBA mode. Instead you can convert Physical Disks to Non-RAID mode. Refer below link for details on this

Hi Bondif
You will require a different controller, The HBA supported by the R740 servers is a H330 HBA
You will also require a different SAS cable as the connectors of the controller cards are different

I am going to guess as you want to use HBA mode you wish to use something like virtual san or windows spaces. If this is the case HBA mode will not work due to the software requiring an official HBA controller

I use a company called www.serversource.co.uk for spare or out of warranty parts. If you give them your service tag of the server and what you are planning to do they will point you in the right direction for the parts you require.

Hi Dave,
im also having this same issue with H755 controller, it dose note have HBA converting option,
only has option to convert Physical Disks to Non-RAID mode.
will this work for the VSAN requirement?
