T110 SAS 6/iR controller - SAS & SATA raid1 on different containers/connectors?

Can you mix SAS/SATA in different containers/connectors (without performance issues)?

Container/Connector 0 - 2 600GB SAS ST3600057SS in a raid1

I want to add 2 additional drives

Container/Connector 0 - 2 2TB SATA http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=341-9722&mfgpid=204164&chassisid=8560 in its own raid1 (so not anything to do with the 1st raid array).

Documentation here https://www.dell.com/support/Manuals/us/en/555/Product/dell-sas-6ir-intgtd-and-adptr says not to mix SATA/SAS in the same container (as would be expected) but it doesn't say you can mix them on different containers if they are not part of the same array. If this is supported/works, does it cause any performance degradation (running in emulation mode or whatever)?

If not I guess I will just add 2 more http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=W347K  for *a lot* more ($/GB, but yes, it will be faster).

Thanks!!

I don't see a way to edit my own post - "Container/Connector 0 - 2 2TB SATA" should be "Container/Connector 1 - 2 2TB SATA"
