T610 Perc 6/i Windows 2008 w/Hyper-V
Just installed and external eSATA backup drive to port provided on T610 server. Have Perc 6/i Raid controller.
PERC LSI Driver 2/9/2099 v4.5.0.64
Perc 6.i SCSI Disk v6.1.7600
Just recently installed exeternal eSATA backup drive and have started having BSOD...
This indicates a hardware and driver issue, what are the known issues with plugging in an eSATA drive into the Perc 6/i controller.
Host Computer: Windows 2008 R2 Std
Hyper-V: Have three vertual servers SBS/RDS/SQL
Thanks

Mark,
The issue may lie in the fact you are connecting a storage device to a raid controller. That isn't suggested. What I would recommend is adding a SAS 5/E storage controller, part number - M778G.

I understand even though it is connected to the mobo all sata control goes through the Perc 6./i. Is this a correct assumption?
The BSOD started happening shortly after install the esata drive...if there is an issue with eSATA why does DELL provide the port externally?
