VRTX Shared PERC 8 and Multipath I/O
Hi,
I just acquired a VRTX and I am configuring it for Hyper-V as per Dell deployment guide
I am stuck after enabling multipath I/O as DELL SHARED PERC8 is not listed under the Discover multi-paths.
I have modified the registry as per the deployment guide. Please help, I'm behind my schedule on delivery time.

Mistamayor,
It sounds like the Shared Perc 8 Driver hasn't been loaded. If you look on page 26 on the deployment guide you linked, it is the step you do before configuring the multipathing.
Let me know if you have loaded the driver.

@DELL-Chris H thanks for your feedback.
I am running Server 2016
I did not find drivers for PERC 8 at Dell.com/drivers just firmware for Server 2016
However, Shared PERC 8 shows up in deivce manger and the installed for the PERC8 has driver version 6.805.3.0 while driver date is 3/15/2016
I would be glad if you could help.
Downloading one of the drivers for Server 2012R2 showed that the currently installed driver is newer than the update i was trying to install.

Hello,
I fixed :
Keep the drivers that the Operating System (2016 or 2019) automatically detects in the Blades, and configure MPIO as Showed in the url https://www.dropbox.com/s/k18br0311gnop9b/vrtx.png?dl=0

The drop box link doesn't work but I would really appreciate the missing piece here if someone knows. Everything seems to be installed correctly but still not able to add disks into share cluster storage.

Hello, @Andrew-1234
Would you be able to tell us further in detail what you are going through? Also have you tried what @DELL-Chris H suggested? Could you tell us where you are stuck? You can also give us your service tag.
Respectfully,

Hello
Wow that was fast.
<Private data removed from public view. DELL-Admin>
I am stuck after enabling multipath as Dell shared perc8 is not listed under the discover multi-paths.
I have modified the registry as per the deployment guide and I can see the device listed in device management and I see the shared drive that I have created on the VRTX. I just cannot see the shared perc8 listed in the multi path application.
I and going through your guide and that is the part I get stuck on.
I am going to redo one of the nodes from the start again (does this 5 times now; hoping this time it works)
Thanks
Andrew

May we ask you to deploy OS using LCC and make sure supported drivers are embedded in IDRAC.

@Andrew-1234 Forgot to say I did install the first server by the LCC and the second as a normal install.
I will redo it again on server 1 following the LCC and the guide

I have reinstalled the server using the LCC and go through the guild and it is just the same; you dont get anything listed on the MPIO about a shared PERC
