What is maximum teoretical speed of H700 card (in R710) ?

Does the H700 card have a maximum theoretical speed ?

I would be curious to see what speed I can achieve if I install 6 Intel SSD in it, in raid 0 (in an R710).

Even if maximum speed is at 1GB/s - 1.5GB/s I assume I would still benefit when searching trough many small files or so, and I am still curious about the actual max speed.

AdrianTNT,

The H700 controller will align with SAS 2.0 (so 6 Gbps). This controller will enable support for SAS, SATA, and SSD (specifically SATA SSDs) drives internal to PowerEdge servers and Dell 6 Gbps SAS JBOD Enclosures. So in the R710, with 6Gbps drives, will run up to 6 Gbps throughput.

Let me know if this helps, or if you have any other questions or concerns.

What you meant is like a total, right ? The server will "see" the card like a drive with 6Gbps total ? Or you meant a 6Gbps per individual drive ?

AdrianTNT,

It is the total bandwidth between the controller and virtual/physical disks.
