changing boot mode and existing raid

I have a Poweredge T330 PERC S130 with 2 disks in a RAID 1 array. Server 2016 OS was installed in legacy boot but I need to switch to UEFI. Can I pull out the 2 existing drives, put in 4 fresh drives, change the boot mode to UEFI and RAID 10 and reinstall the OS? If I do this and there are issues, am I able to put the 2 original disks back and switch the boot mode and revert to how it was?

Hello

Yes, that should work. Virtual Disk Migration is covered on page 15 of the controller manual. There are instructions in that section. You should add and remove the drives while the system is off. That will avoid drives being marked as failed.

When performing any kind of migration or reconfigure it is best practice to have all of the storage components at the latest firmware revision. The S130 is an embedded controller and is updated with system BIOS updates. I suggest making sure the system BIOS and drives are updated.

Thanks
