Cachecade is not a feature of the 13th generation series 9 controllers. This feature has been deprecated for many reasons. One of the reasons is that it was not widely used, and it's functionality was very confusing for most people. The industry is also moving toward software defined storage that allows features with the same functionality as cachecade to be handled by software.

you're right for SanDisk - it is not an option.
I'm surprised the options ssd cache is off because it brings many advantages.

I use it on other LSI RAID controller.

I don't think we are talking about the same thing. A SanDisk Direct Attached Storage device would not be connected to the H730 controller. It would be connected via an external controller of some kind.

I'm not familiar with a Sandisk 90 day trial. If the trial is offered through us then contact your sales rep to request it. If it is offered through Sandisk then contact them.

The amount of cache.

If you need the cachecade feature then you will need to use one of our older PERCs like the H710. The feature sets between the two variations of our controllers are the same. The P version is a higher performance controller. It has more cache and will sometimes have a faster processor as well.

The Sandisk DAS software that is referenced in that link is not included. It is an optional software purchase.

SanDisk DAS Cache is not hardware specific. It is a driver filter that redirects data read/write requests. It is an optional software purchase at point of sale. You will need to contact sales to discuss purchasing it after point of sale.
