which LSI chip does the Dell PERC 5i integrated use?

Hello there. I have just bought 2 of the PE 1950 servers with these components.

160GB, SATA, 3.5-inch 7.2K RPMHard Drive [341-3036] (x2)
PERC 5/i, Integrated Controller Card [341-3094]
Integrated SAS/SATA RAID 1 PERC 5/i Integrated [341-3084]

Can someone tell me what solaris 10 driver from the LSI website I maybe able to use? I need to run solaris because of its support for zones.

I found another post http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=pes_hardrive&message.id=22973&query.id=1591#M22973 that seems to indicate LSISAS1064e might be the one but other posts seem to suggest megaraid driver is what I need. But which megaraid LSI product specifically if that's what I need?

I'd appreciate the help.

That's a good question. We can't get the drivers to work with our 5i in Windows XP (for our Windows PE imaging solution). Did you ever figure out which MegaRaid drives they were on the LSI site?

If I had to guess, I'd say the LSI SAS 1068 driver would be correct, since I have a Dell PE 1950, and there is an LSI Logic chip inside, and printed on the chip is 'LSI SAS 1068'.  However, I tried this driver and it doesn't work.  Please let us know if you find one that does work.   Unless Dell comes up with a Solaris driver for the PERC 5/i, it appears there are only two other possibilites:  buy a Sun box or use Linux.

I went to LSI's site (again) and only saw the following listed for INTERNAL RAID -- Not sure which is right (if any)

*Megaraid SAS 8300XLP
*Megaraid SAS 8308ELP
*Megaraid SAS 8344ELP
*Megaraid SAS 8408E
*Megaraid SAS 8480E

If I'm not mistaken it's the 1680 you describe earlier, but if you have Solaris 10 U3 this is all fixed with the exception of the Broadcom driver. I've rebuilt the x86.miniroot because of this so I can PXE boot these machines. The mpt driver in Solaris 10 U3 does support the 1950/2950.
