Fail drive on a 1600SC with PERC4/SC RAID configuration 10
We had a power outage last night, when the server came back up Array 0 was degraded
due to errors on drive 0(amber light lit)The system was able to boot into the O/S
just fine, other than the loud beeping sound coming from the Server all seems fine.
I rebooted the server into PERC Console and notice Drive 0 was offline so I placed
it back online and when I rebooted for the 2nd time I got this message "Can not boot,
file NTOSKNL is missing from directory" I when back into PERC console and used the
rebuild option for Drive 0 after 2 hrs it finished and I reinitialize the drive
and reboot for the 3rd time and got the same message. I have a hotspare drive
active and in place but it did nothing? At this point I offline the hotspare,
removed the hotspare and placed it in slot 0 as soon as I turn it online it started
the rebuilding process, Im assuming this is good? But was just wondering if any of
my data and/or OS will survived this ordeal? If it's taking two plus hrs to rebuild
there must be some data and if I needed to reinstall the O/S would I lose my data?
Any suggestion is much appreciative.
Drive 0 73gb Media Error 7 / Non-Media Error 4 / Predictive failure=0
Drive 1 73gb
Drive 2 73gb
Drive 3 73gb
Drive 4 73gb(hotspare)

Once the rebuild has completed, the drive should report as ONLINE again. Then, quit the PERC console and the system could be restored after reboot. That's unnecessary to "INITIALIZE" the virtual disk, as "INITIALIZE" will destroy all the data on the selected virtual disk.
It doesn't matter, let's try the disaster recovery to restore your system by the backup.
