Installing SBS 2003 Std or Premium (Original eOpen Disk without SP1 or SP2, and not R2) on T410

Now I am replacing my old server with new Dell T410 with Perc 6i hotplug SAS drives  (RAID 5).

Unfortunately, I tried several rounds without any process on the blue "Start Windows Setup" at the lower left corner as follows:

1st try: Original Disk with PERC 6i floppy driver with F6 starting the installation, and wait forever the the screen "Start Windows Setup".

2nd try: nLite my SBS 2003 standard disk-1 with SP2 and tried again, still wait forever the the screen "Start Windows Setup".

3rd try : nLite my SBS 2003 standard disk-1 with SP2 and integrated sbs2003 drivers from Dell's system build disk, and tried again with the same screen Start Windows Setup".

4th try: redo the same steps (1-3) with SBS 2003 Preimum , the same original disk without any SP or R2.

Can any one help me to get my SBS 2003 install ?

Thank You in advance.

You probably need to figure out a way to either build new media that includes SP2 in the install disk, or 'find' SBS media with SP2 pre-integrated.

Some of the newer PCs just can't be installed with anything less than SP1 and some even have to have SP2 to be able to install any version of 2003.

First, BOTH the PERC 6 drivers and the SBUU (Dell installation utility) require SP2, so you will at minimum need to create an nLite CD with SP2.

This is the driver you should be using, extracted to floppy (or to a folder for nLite integration):

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&releaseid=R216023&SystemID=PWE_T410&servicetag=&os=WNET&osl=en&deviceid=13854&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=2&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=5&libid=46&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&fileid=307244

You can also use the SMTD (System Management Tools and Documentation) DVD that came with the T410 to install the OS, but keep in mind, you will still need an SP2 media.

Thank You very much!

I added the RAID driver via Floppy and the T410 started the installation of setting windows.

After a while, the windows' setup prompted me to load RAID drvier pxxxx.sys from CD. WoW!!! I had it on Floppy but not on CD. So I inserted the driver into the SP2 CD again and it continued a run without issues anymore.

I have the Windows SBS 2003 SP2 running on T410 now.

It is cool.
