MS Windows Home Server for PowerEdge T100 or T105

I plan to purchase new Dell PowerEdge T100 or T105 at price under $300 and use it for installing MS HomeServer. I have the MS WHS software and just need a bare-bones server for it. Is it a good choose? My budget is only for $300.

Yes, either is a good choice. I have a sc440 (prior to t100) and have 4 hard drives fitted running WHS quite happily. You don't need the fastest cpu, the base dual core is more than enough. I would go for 2gb ram.

The specs list only 2 hard disks but i fitted 2 more in the floppy bay and other cd bay using a 51/4 to 3.5 converter. However the T series uses a sata dvd so you only get 3 useable connectors on the mobo, one for the os disk and 2 spare.

Hope this helps
