PowerEdge R710 with Esxi 5.1 PSOD

I have a PowerEdge R710 with VMware Esxi 5.1 installed with a local datastore. Three VM is running on this host (2 linux - 1 win os) since 2 years. From last week R710 suddenly crash with a "Purple screen of death" PSOD: "The system has found a problem on your machine and cannot continue. LINT1 motherboard interrupt. This is a hardware problem: please contact your hardware vendor.".

After rebooting the server, if i check logs with OMSA i see this 2 errors concurrently with PSOD:

A bus fatal error was detected on a component at bus 0 device 6 function 0
A bus fatal error was detected on a component at slot 1

I have an additional network card into pci slot 1.

So i upgraded all the firmwares with the linux iso created by Dell Repository Manager but the problem continues.

What can i do now ? Thank you in advance for your reply.

Retegraf,

What I would suggest starting with is running the esxcfg-info –w from the server, then when you get the results, which appear like the one shown below.

+PCI Device :

|----Segment............................................0x0000
|----Bus................................................0x02
|----Slot...............................................0x00
|----Function...........................................0x00
|----Runtime Owner......................................vmkernel
|----Has Configured Owner...............................false
|----Configured Owner...................................
|----Vendor Id..........................................0x1000
|----Device Id..........................................0x005b
|----Sub-Vendor Id......................................0x1028
|----Sub-Device Id......................................0x1f34
|----Vendor Name........................................LSI / Symbios Logic
|----Device Name........................................Dell PERC H710P Mini
|----Device Class.......................................260
|----Device Class Name..................................RAID bus controller
|-

Looking at the results, you will see Bus, Slot, Function, locate the one designated 0-6-0 and that will identify the device causing the issue.

I believe that the 0.6.0 is the embedded Pci Bus, but am not certain. So this will help identify if it is the add in card or that the errors are separate. If you remove the add in card does the error clear?

Let me know what you see.
