Restore a Backup to a other Server
Hi everybody
Can i restore a Windows Full Backup from a Dell Poweredge T310 to a Poweredge T320?
If does not work, can i restore only the software an the configurations?

You would be able to backup and restore the data portion of the T310. If you attempt to do a full image to the T320 you will run into issues. Such as the system state information being for completely different hardware. Your registry will have mac addresses of devices that won't be present and have different information and hardware that the OS won't recognize. You are FAR better off to just backup the data and then to install the OS and applications tot he new server and then restore the data. It is far more stable and safer for the data integrity.

Hi
I install now the OS Windows Server 2008 Virgin on t320. How can i backup onliy the Data on T310 (AC, Software, Printer, Configurations) and restore this on T320?

Have you tried the USMT from MS ?

Alternatively you could use P2P software such as ShadowProtect.
