You need drivers. Which RAID controller are you using?

Looking at the express service code you have a SAS 5IR controller. Download and burn the SBUU, and then boot to it. It will load all necessary drives and give you a chance to setup raid array before the install. Follow prompts and insert 2003 media when prompted.

When you power on the server, watch the POST screens ... you will see a prompt to enter a configuration utility for a RAID controller. The likely possibilities are: PERC 5/6 or SAS 5/6.

Uncheck it for the install from SBUU, then download and install it after Windows is installed. You are usually better off installing from SMTD instead of SBUU.
Using the method you were using before, this is the driver you needed:

With 2003, you need to use a floppy disk at the F6 prompt during Windows Setup, or you need to use nLiteOS.com to integrate the drivers into your installation media.
You really shouldn't be using 2003 any longer.

Yes, sounds like you chose the option to install OMSA during OS install. Here is the link to OpenManage Server Administrator Version 6.5.0

Thanks for the reply, so do I just burn that file to a disk and pop it into the CDROM when it asks for the OMSA? I have a feeling it's not that easy...

Deselect the install of OpenManage during the OS install. That IS that easy. You can always install OMSA after the OS is installed.

I know I shouldn't use 2k3 however, it's all I have and this is a learning machine. I've decided to start from scratch and download the Dell DVD ISO - Dell Systems Management Tools and Documentation, v.6.5.0, A01. There are two iso's, I am able to download ISO image 2 but not ISO image 1. Any ideas? Tried to login to FTP.dell.com and it doesnt recognize my user name and password. I assume its the same as the http community support site? Here is the link to the page for the downloads for SMTD...

I de-selected the OpenManage install and got this error at 15% while:
"unrecoverable error while copying system build and update utility media. The CDROM or DVDROM may be damaged or unreadable. The installation process cannot proceed, please power off your system and try the install again after a reboot""

You can't "log in" to Dell's FTP. You must browse it via web browser.
I don't know what is wrong with image 2 ... seems to be downloading fine for me, but at 12Mbps, it may take a while to discover a problem.
As for using Server 2003 ... much of what you learn with 2003 is obsolete and/or outdated. Download the evaluation for Server 2008 or 2012 ... the evaluation is good for 180 days. Installation will be much easier and you will benefit more from what you learn using a modern OS.
