monitoring 1000T

We use solarwinds locally to monitor everything. I wanted to set up powerstore in it but srm it does not support powerstore yet. I have it call home to dell emc through the internet but was wondering if anyone had setup local monitoring and ways to do it. like i can't find a setting for snmp.

We are adding support for SNMP (and Syslog) in the PowerStoreOS 2.0 release that was announced yesterday.

Hello Dell Community,

we are using

2.1.0.1 (Release, Build 1602345, 2022-02-24 11:48:04, Retail)
'Send notifications to configured SNMP manager destinations.'

but unfortunately this only provides SNMP traps but we are not able to todo an snmpwalk for our cmk system.

is some1 able to locally monitor with an external monitoring tool and over which protocol - maybe REST API ?

i will provide here a list of most popular open source monitoring software, maybe some1 other will find this thread more easily who were successful to monitor without using the PowerStore WebGUI.
eg. checkmk, prometheus, grafana, zabbix, solarwinds, cacti, opennmns, monit, librenms, dynatrace, sematext, elastic stack, datadog, prtg, hws.

regards

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

You should be able to use SNMP based monitoring. https://dell.to/4bh1CxG

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

That setting appears to be ONLY for sending SNMP traps.  What we are asking for, is how to let Solarwinds connect to the Powerstore via SNMP - which at this point does not appear to be an option?

Hello Tupelo4113,

With Solarwinds you can’t monitor a Powerstore system that I have seen.
