715n serial and HyperTerminal access failing but Remote Desktop works
I am working to configure a recently acquired 715n v1.1 4x120Gb NAS.
It is set for DHCP and receives an address on LAN 1. I can browse to it, and get a simple webpage. When I click the link to administer I receive the typical "This page cannot eb displayed" message. FYI-default id and password appear to successfully login on the first introductory page.
I configured a 2000 machine for serial access by creating the special account, renaming the workstation, and setting up the serial network connection. I was able to connect using the default uid and pword as well. However, the kickstart utility will not run in my IE6 browser. I tried the HyperTerminal setup and received no response either.
Lastly, I tried an XP machine and remote desktop - It Worked!
Using a Windows XP machine and the 715n connected to the LAN with LAN1, I can connect to the DHCP IP assigned. I can log in using the default uid/password and get the functional W2K desktop.
So:
How can I reset or default the entire configuration using remote desktop to enable web access?
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
